Oil Spill? Really?
Flight Day

So, today was my mobilization day. Waking up at 4AM to leave Danielle for two weeks was NOT FUN. Nope. My first time being away from our apartment for any real length of time without her, or Brody, or Reese. Made it to the airport in Providence at around 4:50, checked in and went through security. As much fun as that was, I still don’t like flying. Sat around for an hour, waiting for the plane to board. It wasn’t even a full flight on the little puddle jumper plane. Made it to altitude and then went down for a landing. You could definitely tell when we hit New Jersey… It was a… smell to it. But I did get to see New York City from the air. How all those people live in that area is beyond me, I don’t think I could do it. Landed in Newark, took a shuttle to my gate, which was changed, and hopped the larger plane for Houston. Weather started clearing up the farther from the Dirty Jersey we got, imagine that? It was nice, when it was 11:30, EST, yeah, I forgot that I hit a time zone border… So I moved my clock back, good reason to NOT land, huh?

The Houston was fun, yeah, sat around until 1:10, when the flight was supposed to go, waiting. They loaded us on a bus and brought us out to a plane, that had propellers, yeah, that made me feel good. We were up in the air for 25 minutes or so? Then I landed, got my bags, got my rental car and proceeded to get lost on my way to the hotel.

No sense of direction + No GPS = bad news. Thank God for Danielle and google maps and the guy at the front desk. Once I got my hotel, I checked in, checked in with my supervisor and didn’t leave aside from going to a mini-mart for some food.

Tomorrow is when Bonnie is in the neighborhood, so it looks like a load of nothing. Should be a blast. Yeah.
